The Academic Senate for California Community Colleges represents the faculty of the community Colleges. This site helps ensure effective participation in the formation of statewide policies on academic and professional matters.

This website is designed to assist those within the California Community Colleges who design and approve curriculum. The seven topic areas are structured for easy information access and guidance on curriculum in the major ways users need that information and guidance.
The Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges Western Association of Schools and Colleges
California Community Colleges System Office
The System Office is the administrative branch of the California Community College system, and is located in Sacramento. It is also responsible for allocating state funding to the colleges and districts.
California Community Colleges System’s Office Academic Affairs Division
The Academic Affairs Division of the Chancellor’s Office is responsible for providing state-level design and review of community college curriculum and instructional support activities.
California Community Colleges System’s Office Credit Program and Course Approval
This sub-unit maintains the statewide Inventory of Approved and Projected Programs, which lists all approved programs in the California Community Colleges system. The inventory may be searched by college or by type of program.
California Community Colleges System’s Office Instructional Programs and Services Unit
The Instructional Programs and Services Unit is responsible for management, policy development and implementation in the areas of instructional resources and academic standards, including Credit Program and Course approval, curriculum reporting and review, Noncredit (adult education), Basic Skills and English as a Second Language (ESL), and Distance Education; in addition to administration of special projects.

This inventory lists degrees and certificates offered by California community colleges, which are approved by the Chancellor's Office, and projected future programs.

California Code of Regulations
The California Code of Regulations (CCR) website contains the text of the regulations that have been formally adopted by state agencies, reviewed and approved by the Office of Administrative Law, and filed with the Secretary of State. Title 5 - Education, Division 6 - California Community Colleges, Chapter 6, contains the regulations for curriculum at the community colleges.
California Education Code
This code establishes the law of this state in regards to education. This code primarily deals with grades K-12, however. Title 3: Postsecondary Education does provide statutory provisions for California’s postsecondary institutions. This code is divided into title, division, part, chapter, article, and section headings.

LBCC Distance Learning Guidelines
A course is considered to be a distance learning course if any percentage of it is delivered via a methodology where the student and the instructor are not present in the same physical location. LBCC offers a few types of distance learning courses: online / teleWeb and televised courses are taught 51% or more at a distance; hybrid courses are taught 50% or less at a distance.
SCANS Report for America 2000
Published and released in June 1991, the SCANS Report's skills and competencies were identified by the Secretary of Labor's Commission on Achieving Necessary Skills. The national commission deemed the skills a necessary requirement of high school graduates or persons entering the workforce, and especially those expecting to become successful members of that workforce.
